To check if you are using an efficient shower, find out the flow rate of your shower head.
Take a bucket which holds 10 litres and time the seconds which you need to fill it with your shower. Only use cold water and open the tap as wide as you can.
Divide the number 600 by the seconds which you measured. The result is the flow rate of your shower head in litres per minute.
12 litres and more - a new water saving shower head is very important
9 to 12 litres - a new water saving shower head is advisable
8 litres and less - a water saving shower head is in place
You can also use a shower-flow regulator that screws into the bottom of your shower hose.
